EZ Computers Security PolicyYour security is our priority

Did you know the risk of credit card fraud is greater when you hand your credit card over to a waiter in a restaurant than when you shop on the Internet! Modern day encryption technology, used by many websites similar to ourselves, virtually eliminates credit card fraud on the internet. Even so, here at EZ Computers security is one of our main concerns. We use a multitude of techniques to guarantee you a safe shopping experience every time. This page will explain some of the security techniques use to protect against credit card fraud.

SSL

Our website uses secure areas whenever you submit privileged details to us. These areas are 100% secure, as we utilise industry standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to allow for the encryption of critically sensitive information such as your name, address and credit card details. Information passed between your computer and our secure server cannot be read even in the unlikely event it is intercepted by someone else. For more information on SSL please click here.

Encryption (MD5 / RC4)
MD5 is a one way hashing algorithm which means that once you encode some text using it, it's virtually impossible to decrypt it due to the vast amounts of computing power that would be necessary. MD5 is used to encrypt for storing passwords. RC4 is another cryptography technique adopted by us to store your personal details. Encryption is an essential tool for us at EZ Computers to ensure that your information is completely safe.
AVS Address Verification System and CV2
At EZ Computers we take Credit Card Fraud very seriously, for this reason we take multiple steps and enforce certain rules to prevent it. All orders made through our site are validated using address verification techniques to ensure that the address entered on an order EXACTLY matches that of the credit card holders. This is checked against the card issuer's bank and once verified the order will only be shipped to the address of the card holder. As well as using AVS we also use CV2 code verification this is the security code printed on the signature strip of your card, and like AVS is verified against the card issuer's bank system.
